Grimes and Elon Musk have confirmed that their son will have an original name to say the least!
The couple had planned to call their baby boy X Æ A-12 (pronounced "Ex Ash A Twelve"), but the law of their state of birth, California, does not allow the use of numbers in given names.
Responding to questions from admirers on her Instagram account, the 32-year-old singer recently revealed that her baby's official name had been changed to X Æ A-Xii, with the number 12 having been replaced by its Roman equivalent.
However, according to TMZ, the happy parents had to make further changes to it when they were informed that birth names should be limited to the English alphabet.
According to the California rules on first names, birth certificates can contain "the 26 alphabetical letters of the English language" but can include punctuation marks such as apostrophes and dashes.
The two celebrities then fell back on X AE A-XII Musk, X constituting his first name, AE A-XII, his middle name and Musk, his last name.
The couple had previously explained the meaning of this unusual first name, revealing that X represented the "unknown variable", Æ (now AE) was "the elven spelling of AI", and that the A-12 (A-XII ) was the precursor of the SR-7 aircraft, which they particularly like.
The baby of Elon Musk and Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher, was born last month.
