Gladiators star Bernadette Hunt, aka Falcon, died of cancer at age 59

Bernadette Hunt passed away after a long battle with cancer.

 

Falcon, whose real name is Bernadette Hunt, joined the show Gladiators as a gladiator in 1993. A ballerina and aerobics instructor by training, Bernadette remained on the show until 1999. To the tune of Queen's "Breaktrhu", the "sweetest gladiator" participated in all sorts of events such as the Joust, the Powerball and the Tilt.

 

Her death was announced by Rick Jango, her sister's partner, in a Facebook post. "It is with great sadness that I must announce the passing of my partner's younger sister, Bernadette Hunt," it reads. "I had the privilege of being in her company on several occasions and I have to say that she was one of the most charming people I have ever met," Rick added.
