Coronavirus: South Korea announces a return to normal for November

South Korea will gradually return to normal life in November, President Moon Jae-in said Monday during a budget speech to parliament.
Schools will be fully reopened and classes will resume in full, while community centers for the elderly will resume normal operations. Some measures such as wearing masks will remain in place.
The South Korean health authorities had announced on Saturday that more than 70% of the population was fully vaccinated. The vaccination campaign had started slowly before accelerating in recent months thanks to larger stocks of vaccines.
South Korea has handled the pandemic quite well. The country has managed to keep the number of infections low thanks to massive testing and contact monitoring. However, Korea is facing a fourth wave since the summer. On Monday, 1,423 cases of contamination were recorded as well as 21 deaths due to the coronavirus.
