More than 7 million viewers before Zemmour on TF1
Eva Deschamps / December 1, 2021
The interview on TF1 of the presidential candidate Eric Zemmour was followed Tuesday night by 7.2 million viewers and thus captured 30.9% of audience share, announced Wednesday the private channel.
TF1's 8 o'clock news, presented by journalist Gilles Bouleau, was watched by 6.5 million viewers on Tuesday evening, with an audience share of 27.9%.
The peak of the audience was recorded during the interview of the extreme right-wing polemicist Eric Zemmour, who had made his presidential candidacy official a few hours earlier in a video posted on YouTube, which has accumulated over 2 million views.
For about ten minutes, the former editorialist of CNews and Le Figaro was questioned about his candidacy video, his previous convictions for provocation to racial hatred and passages from his book.
Questions that the candidate did not appreciate.
At the end of the newscast, he criticized a prosecutor's interview, accusing the journalist Gilles Bouleau of having wanted to be clever.
Accusations refuted by TF1 which recalled to AFP that the journalist has the freedom of his questions, the guest of his answers.
On the public service side and still in politics, the program Elysée 2022 was broadcast in the evening on France 2. It hosted the last debate of the five candidates in the Republican primary and was followed by 1.7 million viewers, occupying 8.9% of audience share.
