The arrest dates back to February 10. According to the APA news agency, two knives and material suggesting that the suspect was a supporter of the Islamic State were found. The Westbahnhof station appeared to be the target.
At the time of his arrest, the teenager had a knife with a saw and a five-centimetre blade in his trouser pocket. A search of his home turned up a number of Islamist publications and handwritten sketches of knife and machete attacks on a railway station or police officers. Handwritten instructions for designing explosives were also discovered.
In a hiding place in the cellar, a combat knife with a 16.5-centimeter blade, another pocket knife and an Islamic flag were confiscated. The boy refused to testify at his first hearing.
