Ivanka Trump's dilemma: being loyal to her father or saving her own political ambitions

Steph Deschamps / January 12, 2021

Ivanka Trump, the daughter of the U.S. president, plans to attend Joe Biden's inauguration on January 20, much to her father's chagrin, reveals a White House source in the Daily Mail. While the president himself revealed that he would not attend the handover of power, the president's daughter would like to be present in order to save her own political ambitions. She dreams of one day becoming the first woman elected president of the United States.

Ivanka fears that her promising political career is in jeopardy and she is doing everything she can to save her reputation, the source said.

President Trump is angry at Ivanka's decision. He told her it was an insult that she wants to engage with the crooks who are trying to bring him down, the source said, adding that Trump had asked his family to unite and stand united.

The president told his daughter that her presence at the inauguration would cost her thousands of supporters and would be the worst decision she could make. Ivanka was convinced that by attending Biden's inauguration, she would be seen as a fair player and win future supporters, the source reported.

She justified this decision by saying that she had to protect her own political aspirations and that she wasn't about to spoil everything by attending the kick-off of her father's 2024 campaign, which is scheduled for the same day. She leaves that to her father and Don Jr.
